We’ve always been committed to doing business in a good way. B Corp certification is a natural next step to formally assess our values, push us to improve, and show our clients and community that we’re serious about making a positive impact.
We wanted to become B Corp certified as it aligned with our Ovation values, such as being an employee-owned company. It’s about considering how we operate internally and how we think about our impact to make continual improvements. It also proves we’re genuinely committed to being responsible, ethical, and sustainable. We want to build trust with our clients and providers, attract and retain employees who care about our values, and set the company apart.
What this means for you
You can trust that by working with us, you’re partnering with a business that is dedicated to creating long-term, positive impacts, which is reflected in the quality of service and products we provide.
Becoming B Corp certified means we meet high standards of social and environmental responsibility, transparency, and ethical business practices. Here’s how it works:
Workers
B Corps are expected to create a positive, fair, and engaging workplace. This includes paying fair wages, offering good benefits, and promoting diversity and inclusion.
Customers
B Corps are committed to providing ethical products, transparency with customers, offering honest communication and being responsible for the impact of its products.
Community
B Corps must consider how it contributes to the community it operates in. Our involvement with the Financial Wellbeing movement is a brilliant example of this.
Environment
B Corps look to minimise their environmental impact and are expected to assess their carbon footprint and be transparent about their environmental performance.
Governance
B Corps are evaluated on their overall mission, engagement around their social/environmental impact, ethics, and transparency. Our business model is designed to create positive outcomes for our clients, workers and community
To achieve Certified status, Ovation completed the B Impact Assessment. This involved a detailed review of our performance in the areas above. A company must score at least 80 out of 200 points to pass. Ovation scored 120.9 – a brilliant score for a first-time pass. We will recertify every three years to ensure we still meet the standards.
